The AGM of HLTC will take place on Thursday 18th April 2013 at 7.30pm at Heckington Sports & Social Club.
Everyone interested in tennis is invited to attend. As well as the usual AGM business there is the chance to have your say on what tennis activities you would like to see at the club. There are several key positions / jobs that need filling and if you think you can help HLTC continue providing tennis for the community then please attend and/or contact a member of the committee.

At last sunny summer weather ideal for grass court tennis, and a good turnout for the Mixed Doubles, which was played on a round robin basis.
The 2011 champions, Sarah Grant & Simon Needham had opted to play together and defend their title, while there was a draw for partners for the other competitors.
There were still some uneven bounces which made ground strokes ocassionally unreliable, so volleying brought rewards.
In third spot with 2 wins and 16 games were Caroline Conyers & Edward Needham, in second position Sally Hill & Mikey Houseby with 3 wins & 17 games, but retaining the title and unbeaten were Sarah & Simon.

Despite the rainy season HLTC has managed to play 2 of its tournaments, at the time of going to press.
Both the Junior Singles and the Mens Singles were played in warm sunny conditions.
Junior Singles – In the 11-13 year group William Bero was the champion with his brother, Myles (last year’s winner), runner-up.
Oliver Foreman claimed third place and Luke Thomas fourth.
In the 14-16 age group Ryan Anderson retained the trophy, being unbeaten throughout with Alec Doughty taking the runner-up spot. In 3rd place was Elliott Bero and in 4th Luke Massey.
All the matches were played in the best of sporting spirit and the tournament was organised by Mary Thomas.
Mens Singles took place during one of the few hot spells, at the end of May.
Each competitor played all the other players and Ed Needham emerged triumphant over all the rest. So a new name will be engraved on the mens singles shield.
Runner up was Ed’s father, Simon, closely followed by Paul Conyers who organised the tournament.
